About the Fighting Cancer Foundation

Cris Kramer established Fighting Cancer Foundation in 2009 after watching her mother suffer through a harrowing battle with cancer a few years earlier. Her treatment created even more physical and psychological problems as the equipment used to deliver the radiation were subpar. After speaking with hospital officials, Cris discovered that they were aware of the problem, but didn’t have the funds to correct it. She began The Fighting Cancer Foundation to bring state-of-the-art equipment used to treat cancer to underserved public medical facilities around the world. The nonprofit world was a new experience for Cris whose expertise was in the financial and business realm: banking, business administration and business consultation. In Brazil, she had worked for Sebrae, which helps micro and small businesses obtain credit and reduce their tax burden through partnerships with the government and financial institutions. The company offers consulting, training, marketing, technical information, and financial services to businesses.

Since her arrival in the U.S., Cris has held several jobs including personal business and personal banking positions at Bank of America in Orange County and Wells Fargo in Los Angeles and Orange County. She left banking in 2009 to start the Foundation.

Cris received her undergraduate degree in business administration from Paraiba Federale University and her MBA in Business Management from Fundacao Getulio Vargas - SP.

In addition to her role as CEO of The Fighting Cancer Foundation, she is the mother of young twin girls.
